EARTH CELEBRATION: The Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will feature a performance and playshop by the internationally known "Earth Mama" 1 to 3 p.m. today. She also will participate in the centre's services, which start at 11 a.m. and are open to the public.
Earth Mama, aka Joyce Johnson Rouse, is a singer-songwriter, educator and environmental activist. Spending 20 years in Nashville, 17 of which she was a voting member of the Grammy Awards, Rouse received writer's credits for hundreds of songs.
The event is free, but donations or love offerings will be accepted.
HOPE FOR FUTURE: Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main Ave. SW, Warren, will host ''Hope for the Future'' 5 p.m. today with the topic ''Dealing with Life After High School.'' Topics will include college and career, bullying, suicide, relationships and law enforcement, the area drug epidemic, and positives and negatives of social media. Community professionals and leaders will answer questions.
The annual Youth Day will be 10:15 a.m. Sunday with the church youth ministry in charge of the services. Speakers are Keisha Moore and Aaron Williamson of Warren, who are both members of the church and former youth ministry participants. The theme is ''Walking as a Christian in a Carnal World.'' Host pastor is the Rev. Todd Johnson.
MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES: Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Blvd. Boardman, will hold special Memorial Day services 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday. Services will honor soldiers who died during time of war. The celebration will include crosses placed around the flagpole with the names of relatives of Good Hope's members who were killed in service in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
50-YEAR OUTDOOR WORSHIP: The First United Methodist Church of Andover will hold its drive-in outdoor service 9:30 a.m. every Sunday from Sunday through Sept. 3 at Wildwood Acres Campgrounds, state Route 7 and Marvin Road, Andover. Special events include the Golden Street Singers on June 11.
The service has been sponsored by First United Methodist Church for 50 years. Those attending can dress casual and bring a lawn chair or stay inside their car.
HEALING LITURGY: The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon will hold a healing liturgy Sunday. The celebrant will be the Rev. Amedeo Guida, assisted by Deacon Paul Salamy.
The schedule will be noon confession, 1 p.m. liturgy in the Roman Rite and the 2 p.m. healing service.
JEWISH-CHRISTIAN STUDY: Jewish-Christian Bible Study will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Temple El Emeth in Liberty. Minyan will be at 5:45 p.m.
Rabbi Joseph P. Schonberger and Pastor Juan Rivera will speak on Erev Shavout.
SHAVOUT EVENTS: Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, Liberty, will mark Shavout, Feast of Weeks, with Erev service 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, and 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Yizkor will be 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.
BASEMENT OUTREACH EVENT: The Basement Outreach Ministries will host a fundraiser 5 p.m. June 3 at Aulizio's Banquet Center in Warren. The speaker will be Warren Municipal Court Judge Thomas P. Gysegem.
Proceeds will benefit the faith-based organization's community outreach program that serves families in poverty. The group also is launching God's Refuge House, a Christ-centered long-term residential setting providing a program for women facing drug and alcohol recovery.

GUARDIAN OF THE MENORAH: Bonnie Deutsch Burdman will be honored by B'nai B'rith as the 2017 "Guardian of the Menorah" at a tribute banquet 6:30 pm June 4 at Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Ave., Liberty. The Guardian of the Menorah Tribute is presented to outstanding members of community who have demonstrated, through service and commitment, their devotion to the causes of youth and the Jewish and general community, according to organizers.
Burdman graduated from Cornell University, where she was both the associate managing editor and reporter for the independent The Cornell Daily Sun. She received her law degree from American University in Washington, D.C. and later served as adjunct instructor, and privately practiced labor and employment law.
She became director of Community Relations and Government Affairs of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation and works closely with national Jewish agencies on numerous social justice advocacy projects. PAINTING WITH PURPOSE: Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, will hold ''Painting with a Purpose'' 6:30 to 9 p.m. June 8 and 9. Artist Maggie Faull guides the class. Proceeds will benefit Missionary Angela Gianakos, who will be serving in Athens, Greece. To participate, call 330-847-9614 by Friday. Gianakos, from Champion Presbyterian Church, is hoping to depart for Athens in October for 23 months.
WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES: The Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor wedding anniversary celebrations to honor couples who are observing their 25th, 40th, 50th or over anniversaries in 2017.
The celebration will be 2 p.m. June 11 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown and include Mass with Bishop George V. Murry, renewal of marriage vows, a personalized certificate for each couple, and a reception for the couples and their families.
CHORAL ENSEMBLE: The Illuminare choral ensemble, with Jon Simsic, music director, will perform in concert 7 p.m. June 11 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren.
Their program, entitled "A Heaven Full of Stars," features an ensemble composed of collegiate singers and other music professionals. A free-will offering will be received to benefit the ensemble.
