Medical records delay stalls assault case of trustee in Liberty

WARREN — The parties in the Devon Stanley felonious assault case met by Zoom on Tuesday afternoon with Special Prosecutor Dan Kasaris of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office saying the case is being held up by a lack of response from Mercy Health in providing medical records. Stanley, 53, of Liberty, a Liberty Township trustee and chief deputy clerk of the Trumbull County Clerk of Courts Office, is charged with second-degree-felony felonious assault. Newton Falls to seek funds for its community center

NEWTON FALLS — New Village Manager Jeremy Shaffer has been meeting with village department heads on various projects, but one that he will focus on is fixing up the community center at the park, Shaffer told village council he has been in contact with Congressman David Joyce’s office to see what federal funding may be available for the work. LIBERTY — A Youngstown man accused of stealing cash from a local hotel is set to return to court today. Road funding vote targets industrial park

The disbursement of $1.3 million for road improvements adjacent to a newly opened Warren industrial park will be voted on Sept. 29. The Ohio Department of Development sent the Roadwork Development Grant request Thursday to the Ohio Controlling Board.
