WARREN -- The Warren City School District has hired Rick Shepas to serve as its next athletic director.
He will begin in the position July 1.
Shepas, a 1984 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, brings several decades of experience in coaching and as athletic director to the district.
Shepas previously served as head football coach at Poland Seminary, Seneca Valley High School in Pennsylvania, Massillon High School, where he was also athletic director, and he served as head coach at Waynesburg University. He also served as head of athletics for the Youngstown City School District and was most recently the offensive coordinator for Mooney.
Shepas replaces William Nicholson who has served as the district's athletic director for over a decade. Nicholson is assuming another role with Warren City Schools.
