WARREN -- Police have identified Nathaniel Bradley, 21, as the man shot and killed Sunday at Park Place 24 Tavern.
Police also today identified the man they believe shot Bradley as Zaavon Hameed, 26. Court records show Hameed has been charged with murder. Police are searching for him.
According to police Capt. Robert Massucci, there was a physical altercation between Hameed and Bradley prior to the shooting, though a motive has yet to be determined.
Police Chief Eric Merkel and Massucci have been in discussions with the tavern’s owners, one of whom was detained at the bar following a 911 call, as police found him to have a firearm.
"The property has been a headache for our department. We've had several incidents there,” Massucci said.
Merkel said he met with at least one of the bar owners Monday morning to address ongoing issues.
"Either we're going to do it forcibly or they're going to do it voluntarily -- one way or the other, because they seem to have lost control of the place," Merkel said.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m., when police responded to a report of a shooting at 2185 Parkman Road near the Family Dollar. Upon arrival, officers found Bradley dead from gunshot wounds.
