WARREN — A Warren woman was sentenced 15 years to life Tuesday in the November 2022 murder of 36-year-old Jesare’e Harris.

Kenyanna Pennock, 37, of Warren, was found guilty last month on charges of murder, felonious assault and reckless homicide during a three-day trial in the courtroom of Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan.

Standing beside her attorney, David Engler, Pennock told the court she intends to file an appeal.

Harris’ death was related to an incident outside Parkplace 24 Tavern, 2185 Parkman Road, Warren.

Harris was attempting to flag down a friend near the parking lot of the establishment before Pennock intentionally drove into Harris. Reaching speeds of at least 50 mph, Pennock drove nearly half a mile with Harris hanging onto the hood, according to police and court documents.

When Pennock finally stopped, Harris was thrown from the vehicle’s hood in the area of Lit’l Mac Food Store and Subway on Parkman Road. Harris suffered blunt force trauma to the head and died six days later as a result of her injuries.

Starting at $3.23/week.
