Niles police IDs fatal stabbing victim

NILES -- Police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred early Wednesday morning as Kvonn Lavell Watson, of Union Street in Warren.

Watson, 29, was found at 1556 Niles Cortland Road after the Niles 911 Center received a call around 3 a.m. from him saying he was stabbed, according to a press release from the Niles Police Department.

Midnight turn officers, Niles Fire Department and Lane Ambulance arrived at the apartment to find Watson conscious in the living room of the residence, with a knife wound to his chest.

The release states that Watson spoke to officers before being transported to St. Joes Warren Hospital where he later died.

The Niles PD Detective Bureau is currently processing the crime scene and interviewing persons related to the incident.

"We are also receiving assistance from the Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Chris Becker with the case," Niles police Chief Jay Holland reported.

No arrests have been made at this time.
