Warren Public Library closed after receiving threat

WARREN — The Warren Public Library closed early Tuesday afternoon after receiving a shooting threat.

In a statement posted to its social media, the library said, “In the interests of the safety of all library patrons and staff, all W-TCPL libraries and services will be closed, including the libraries in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, Lordstown and Warren as well as Bookmobile service.”

A dispatch call indicates that a message was left by a woman on the library’s Google reviews threatening to shoot up the building.

A two-star review left by the person reads, “I intend on shooting this place up.”

The threat is being investigated by police.

Starting at $3.23/week.
