Man sentenced in shooting of 9-year-old Warren girl

WARREN – A 22-year-old Warren man was sentenced to serve at least 25 years in prison stemming from the stray bullet shooting of a 9-year-old Warren girl earlier this year.

Say'Quan Parks, 22, of East Avenue SE in Warren, was arrested in June on seven counts of felonious assault with firearm specifications, two counts improperly discharging firearm at or into habitation with firearm specifications and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Injured in the shooting was A'Kasha Taylor-Robinson, 9, who was asleep on the couch in her Kenilworth Avenue SE home.

The girl was treated at both St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and Akron Children's Hospital for a bullet that lodged in her arm, shattering the bone.
