HOWLAND – Retired Howland police officer Frank Dillon is leading the very crowded field of contenders seeking to fill the vacant Howland trustee post. The seat is being left open by retiring trustee Rick Clark. So far Dillon has 626 votes.
In second place, according to very early returns, is Howland Board of Education member July Altawil with 495 early votes.
Others are: Michael Verich, 301 votes; Jack Finch Sr. with 231 votes; George Bakeris with 228 votes; Dan Sferra Jr. with 147; and Brian Baxter with 95.
