Tue. 11:24 a.m.: Monday night Warren shooting victim identified

WARREN – One man is dead after a late Monday shooting in the 1000 block of Kenmore Ave.

Darryl Van Jackson, 30, was found with gunshot wounds and was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to a police report.

Officers were called to the area of Kenmore and Sussex around 11:20 p.m. for reports of multiple shots fired and people running.

It was the second homicide in two days in the city. Police are still investigating the Sunday afternoon shooting death of Mark R. Yauger II, 30, 2405 Central Parkway. He was taken into surgery at Trumbull Regional Medical Center for a chest wound, but died shortly after.

Neighbors reported hearing three rapid gunshots coming from Yauger’s home and then seeing two men with bandanas covering their faces fleeing the house.
