HOWLAND -- A 90-year-old Warren man was killed in a two-vehicle crash this afternoon in Howland, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
An eastbound 2001 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Robert E. Jones Jr. , 90, of Warren, collided with a southbound 2016 Nissan Altima driven by Gregory P. Zahniser, 46, of Warren, at 12:25 p.m. in the intersection of North River and Heaton North roads.
The pickup rolled onto its side, the patrol reported. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Zahniser was transported to Saint Joseph Warren Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the patrol.
The accident remains under investigation, but the patrol reported that Jones’ pickup drove into the path of Zahniser’s vehicle.
The Howland Township fire and police departments and the Warren fire department assisted at the crash scene, according to the patrol report.
