Fri. 12:30 p.m.: Warren death ruled homicide

WARREN – The Trumbull County coroner has ruled the death of a Warren man, whose vehicle crashed into a Tod Avenue home, a homicide.

Khalef Freeman, 37, 2032 Ferndale Ave. SW, was found dead inside the car that crashed into a Tod Avenue duplex just before 1 a.m., June 21. He had been shot multiple times.

The investigation is continuing.

Also Friday, the coroner ruled the unrelated death of Kelly A. Reese, 42, of Newton Falls accidental. The woman was found Sunday by firefighters in the upstairs bedroom of 339 Oak Knoll, Newton Falls.

The coroner ruled Reese died of smoke inhalation and burns to her head, upper torso and upper extremities, according to the coroner’s office.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
