Wed. 11:54 a.m.: Trump: GM Lordstown plant will build trucks

LORDSTOWN -- General Motors is selling its Lordstown assembly plant to Workhouse to build electric trucks, President Donald Trump just tweeted.

The deal is pending union agreement, according to the president. Trump added that GM will invest $700 million in three locations that will create 450 more jobs in Ohio.

"I have been working nicely with GM to get this done," Trump tweeted.

The Lordstown facility was ilded by GM in March. It is among the automaker plans to close as it shifts production toward trucks and SUVs and electric and autonomous vehicles.
