VIDEO: Trumbull prosecutor discusses cooperative efforts triggering Hoerig extradition

WARREN – Following Friday’s arraignment of accused killer Claudia Hoerig, Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins discussed the cooperative efforts – locally, nationally and internationally – that led to Hoerig’s extradition from Brazil earlier this week.

Hoerig, charged with killer husband, U.S. Air Force Major Karl Hoerig of Newton Falls in March 2007, had fled to her native Brazil following her husband’s death.

The extradition process to bring her back for trial took nearly 11 years.

Hoerig has pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated murder.
