WARREN – Warren police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old man gunned down and left to die on the sidewalk in the 2700 block of the Burton Street SE early this morning.

At least two neighbors called police shortly after 5 a.m. today to report gunshots and spinning tires.

One woman said she heard the cracking of three or four gun shots and spinning tires before she peered out her window to see a man lying on the sidewalk screaming for help.

The man, later identified as Tyler Mitchell, 18, died bleeding on the sidewalk.

Police are probing the death, which was the second in the city this weekend.

In a separate incident, Michael J. Krevas, 31 of Warren’s Northwest side, was stabbed to death about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Krevas was found lying in a parking lot at 438 North Park Avenue. He was transported to Trumbull Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Arteum Brodeur, 24, has been charged in that death.
