As COVID-19 cases per 100,000 Ohioans gradually declined for a third straight week, Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff, director of the Ohio Department of Health, announced vaccinations for those as young as 6 months old will be in the state Monday. County accepts $2.2M in opioid settlements with Rite Aid, Giant Eagle

WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners have accepted about $2.2 million in settlements from opioid litigation from two major retail pharmacy chains. Commissioners Frank Fuda, Mauro Cantalamessa and Niki Frenchko on Wednesday accepted settlement disbursement sheets from Rite Aid and Giant Eagle. After legal fees, the county is getting $1,123,984 from the Rite Aid litigation and $1,125,000 from Giant Eagle. Case numbers fall for 2nd week

The number of COVID-19 cases in Ohio saw a small decline for the second straight week. The state had a 2.7 percent decrease in COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents this week compared to last week. Mahoning County dropped to 14th this week after having the third-highest rate among the state’s 88 counties last week. Cases in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana declined from last week.
