Churches make New Year’s Eve plans

NEW YEAR’S EVE SERVICES: Local churches will host New Year’s Eve services on Wednesday. Friendship Baptist Church, 1954 Brier St. SE. Santa continues tradition with annual visit to kindergartens

Santa Claus continued a long-standing Liberty Schools tradition with his 15th annual visit, bringing holiday cheer to kindergarten classrooms throughout the school. Each year, Santa makes a special stop at Liberty to visit with kindergarten students and distribute presents to each child. The gifts are donated by members of the Liberty Leopard staff, ensuring that every student is included in the holiday celebration. Growing a Christmas tradition

Merry Christmas! I recently had a conversation with a fellow Farm Bureau member who grows Christmas trees. He showed me an old picture of a large blue spruce being loaded onto the back of a flatbed truck. In the picture also was a nicely painted sign, probably 4 by 8 feet, that read, “Merry Christmas President and Mrs. Johnson From: The Ohio Christmas Tree Growers, Inc.” The tree was headed to Washington, D.C., to be displayed in the Blue Room of the White House.
