BREAKING BARRIERS: The American Association of University Women, Youngstown Chapter, is hosting a presentation “Breaking Barriers, Building Futures: Financial Aid Strategies for Student Access and Success" at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley’s Volunteer Resource Center, 8133 Market St.

Many students never pursue higher education because they assume they cannot afford it. This presentation examines the realities behind college pricing, financial aid opportunities, scholarship programs and support systems available to underserved populations. Melissa McKenney, director of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at Youngstown State University, will present the program.

The event is free.
