FAMILY PORTRAIT: The Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley will host its annual Family Portrait event 10:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Gilmore's Greenhouse, 2774 Virginia Ave. SE, Warren. An ASMV tradition, Family Portraits is designed specifically with autistic individuals and their families in mind. The event gives families the opportunity to have professional portraits taken in a relaxed, welcoming environment without the pressure or time constraints that can sometimes come with a traditional photo session. Each year, ASMV hosts the Family Portrait event at a different location throughout the Mahoning Valley, giving families the opportunity to enjoy a new setting while creating a lasting family memory. Two photographers will be available throughout the event. For a $20 registration fee, each participating family will receive a mailed 5×7 portrait and a digital copy. The event is open to families living in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties who have an autistic child or adult attending the session. Registration is required and space is limited.
