ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: Gillette Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation is announcing its milestone 90th anniversary celebration at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the facility, 3310 Elm Road NE, Warren. To mark nearly a century of service to the Mahoning Valley, prominent state healthcare officials, local leaders and regional business dignitaries will be in attendance.

Among the featured guests, Trumbull County Commission President Tony Bernard will be present to offer formal congratulations alongside the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber to honor the facility's long-standing impact on job creation and local economic stability. Additionally, leadership from the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) will be present to recognize Gillette's rare statewide legacy.

Gillette holds the distinguished title of being the oldest continuously family-owned and operated multigenerational nursing home in Ohio. The story began in 1936 when founders Virgil and Emma Gillette opened the doors of their farmhouse to neighbors who could no longer care for themselves during the leanest years of the Great Depression. This legacy survived because it was fiercely protected across four generations of a single family's devotion, passing down through the late Mildred Stein, the late Charles "Chuck" Stein Sr. and Janet Stein. Today, that exact same "family-first" elder advocacy continues under the daily, hands-on leadership of their sons, Todd and Douglas Stein, who remain actively involved.
