Seeing Eye: Cleanup set in Warren

WARREN CLEANUP: There will be a citywide autumn cleanup 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in Warren. Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District are teaming up to support a volunteer-led day of litter collection throughout neighborhoods, parks and public spaces across Warren. Those who want to participate are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. at 736 Mahoning Ave. NW for supply pickup. To volunteer, call Sev Tripoulas at 330-647-6301 ext. 109.

VOTER REGISTRATION: The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation will host a voter registration drive with the League of Women Voters 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane. Participants will be able to register to vote and check their voter registration status. Absentee ballot request forms and polling site location information also will be available. Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day. Founded in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right -- the right to vote.

BINGO FUNDRAISER: The Bazetta/Cortland Optimist Club will present a designer purse and gun bingo at 2 p.m. Saturday, with bingo starting at 6 p.m. at 2619 Hoagland Blackstub Road. Admission is $50 with 12 games included. Extra games also will be sold. A concession stand will be open. Call Seve Rock at 330-240-1634 or John Van Meter at 330-553-2114. Proceeds from the event will benefit TNR and Lakeview wrestling. There will be six gun games and six purse games.

AMERICA 250: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will have a special America250 storytime at 6 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Wednesday in the library's children’s room. Children ages 4 and younger and their caregivers are invited.

MUSEUM CLOSED: The National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum in downtown Niles will be closed Thursday and Sept. 24.

FALL EQUINOX: The Unity Spiritual Centre, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will celebrate the fall equinox 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. A bonfire is planned, weather permitting. Otherwise, the event will be inside. The drumming circle will be led by Dan Susany, a local drummer who has led regional running events.

DENTAL CARE: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Northeast Ohio will host a mobile dental care clinic Wednesday at 2415 Niles Road SE, Warren. To schedule an appointment, call 234-223-2933. Insurance cards are accepted but not a requirement of the service. Services include cleanings and examinations.
