FOWLER CAR SHOW: The Fowler Township Historical Society will host its annual basket raffle and car show noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the corner of state Routes 193 and 305. The event will include a basket raffle from noon to 3 p.m., 50-50 raffle, and vintage and restored cars and tractors. The historic Butts Family Museum will be open for tours. The basket raffle drawing is 3 p.m. Food will be for sale at the United Methodist Church and the Fowler General Store and Bakery.
BLOOMFIELD EVENT: A cruise-in and truck night will take place 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at North Bloomfield Park. There will be a craft fair and farmers market. Various cars and other vehicles will be displayed. The public will be able to shop at local businesses.
BACK FORTY COMPETITION: The Back Forty Games are taking place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 2211 Kinsman Road NE, Bloomfield. The two-day competition and festival is built around homestead skills, strength and rural tradition.Teams will compete across multiple events, including hay bale stacking, firewood chopping, post pounding, animal sorting, and more -- all leading to the finals in the arena Saturday. Food, vendors, a beer garden and live entertainment will be featured. Team competitions across multiple venues. A fireworks/drone show is scheduled Saturday night.
WELLNESS ON WHEELS: The Warren City Health District's Wellness on Wheels will be stationed at Akron Children's bike safety event 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Warren G Harding High School's Wellness Center, 860 Elm Road NE. BARNHISEL TOUR: The Girard Historical Society welcomes visitors to the historic Barnhisel House and Museum, 1011 N. State St., in Girard. The museum is open 1 to 4 p.m. on selected Sundays: Aug. 23 and Sept. 13 and 27. Admission is a donation of your choice. The museum highlights Girard's history as well as the history of the Connecticut Western Reserve.
