WILDLIFE AMERICA250: Mosquito Lake State Park is Bazetta has rescheduled the Great American Wildlife Celebration to honor America's 250th with a wildlife show at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the park amphitheater near the campground entrance. The event was rescheduled from last month due to weather. Various wild birds will be featured and a bald eagle will fly over the audience courtesy of Raptor Hollow Sanctuary in Alliance. Bring a lawn chair as seating will fill up fast. Following the program there will be cake and ice cream to celebrate America's 250th birthday. The public can also have a sneak peak at the Mosquito Lake Nature Center Complex. The event is open to the publc.,
SCHOOL SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION: The Emmanuel Community Care Center, 2 N. State St., Girard, will distribute school supplies to children in grades K-12 for the upcoming school year. Any family registered at the center in need of school supplies can call 330-545-4301. The pickup for the school supplies will be 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 11. Donations of school supplies and gift cards to Target or Walmart are needed by Friday.
LIBERTY AMERICA250: Liberty's America250 celebration will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Churchill Park off state Route 193 in conjunction with the township's National Night Out. The event was rescheduled from July because of inclement weather. The event will include music, food trucks, police and fire vehicles, local artisans and vendors, and fireworks.
FARM BUREAU HOSTS EVENT: Trumbull County Farm Bureau invites local farmers, elected officials and community members to a policy luncheon at 11 a.m. Friday at Ag Pro, 6401 state Route 87 in Kinsman. The event will offer an opportunity to discuss local, state and national issues that affect agriculture, rural communities and the overall quality of life in Trumbull County. Attendees will participate in open discussion and provide input that will help shape the organization's grassroots policy development process.
Each year, the input gathered at events like this is used to develop policy resolutions, which are voted on by members at the county's annual meeting. Approved policies move on to the Ohio Farm Bureau and, in some cases, to the national level through the American Farm Bureau Federation.
