MECCA COMMUNITY DAY: The sixth annual Mecca Community Day will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the township park, 6100 state Route 46. The free family event will feature music, craft vendors, bounce houses, musical entertainment, backpack giveaway for children in grades K-12 (child must be present) and food trucks.

CHALKER NORTON VIETS REUNION: The 147th annual Chalker, Norton, Veitz family reunion will be at noon Aug. 2 at 1116 Diehl South Road, Leavittsburg, at the home of Mark Martindale. There will be a buffet style dinner at 1 p.m., with those attending asked to bring a covered dish to share. Prizes will be given for the oldest and youngest members and the family that came the farthest. Guests are asked to bring marriages, births, and deaths to be added into the records. CAR AND MOTORCYCLE SHOW: Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge, 3379 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will host a car and motorcycle show 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Registration is free and will be on site beginning at 12:30 p.m. Free dash plaques will be given to the first 30 entries and there will be free Summit Racing bags for all entrants. Awards will be given for Best of Show, and first-, second- and third-place for cars and motorcycles. There also will be food for sale, entertainment with Lon G. and raffle baskets. VETERANS BENEFIT: Master's Bar and Grill, 1675 Trumbull Ave., Girard, will host the 12th annual benefit motorcycle run for Veterans' Outreach in Liberty on Saturday. Registration begins at 10 a.m., the national anthem will be played and the color guard will be featured at 11:45 a.m., and the run begins at noon. The last motorcycle will return to Master's Bar at 5 p.m. There also will be a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing. The entry fee is $15 per rider, with all proceeds benefiting local veterans. BOWLING FOR VETERANS: The fourth annual Stars & Strikes Bowl-a-Thon to benefit Veterans' Outreach in Liberty will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Camelot Lanes bowling alley in Boardman. Check-in begins at noon. The registration fee is $40 per person or $150 per team of four and includes two hours of bowling (shoes included), appetizers and soft drinks during bowling, a pizza buffet and cookies after bowling, raffles, prizes and a team award. There also will be a basket raffle, 50/50 raffle and games for all ages during the event. All proceeds will benefit Veterans' Outreach, which provides assistance and support to veterans and their families.
