Seeing Eye: Create art for your yard at McKinley Memorial Library
PAINTED BRICK BOOKS: The McKinley Memorial LIbrary in Niles will host Painted Brick Books at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Participants will create works of art for their yard or garden by painting prepared garden bricks to resemble hardcover books. YOUTH FARM SAFETY DAY: The Ashtabula and Trumbull County Farm Bureau will host Youth Farm Safety Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Ashabula Antique Engine Club, 4028 U.S.322 in Williamsfield. The day is for children ages 6 to 15. There will be hands-on activities, live demonstrations and safety lessons. Registration is needed at 440-426-2195.
JAPANESE SEWING METHOD: The Girard Free Library will offer an intermediate sewing program Sashiko, Japanese method of visible clothes mending with eye crafting, at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Adults can register for the program in person or online.
VACCINE CLINIC: The Warren City Health District, 258 E. Market St., will provide a COVID-19/flu vaccine Clinic 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. No appointment is needed.
WELLNESS ON WHEELS: The Warren City Health District’s Wellness on Wheels Mobile Unit will be onsite 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tod’s Crossing, 1330 Blakely Circle SW, Warren.
COPING WITH GRIEF: McKinley Memorial Library will present Coping with Grief for Kids, from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles.
Children ages 5 to 11 will learn about the grieving process through a gentle story and accompanying activity. Presented by LSW Bereavement Facilitator Kim Calhoun from Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley by Compassus. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, Ext. 4.
WEATHERSFIELD FESTIVAL: The Weathersfield Community Flag Day celebration will beThursday through Saturday at the community park off state Route 46. The festival will include live music, amusement rides, fireworks, a car show, bingo, food, an animal exhibit with Komara Outdoors and family activities. The parade will be at 6 p.m. Friday along Route 46 and end at Depot Street. The fourth annual Addison Beard Color Run will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday. For information, visit weathersfieldccp.org
