LIBRARY HOSTS PETTING ZOO: The McKinley Memorial Library will present Summer Reading Kickoff: Pony Time Ranch and Petting Zoo 10 a.m. to noon Saturday on the grounds of the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial, weather permitting. Attendees can register for the summer reading program and enjoy time with a variety of animals, including ducks, lambs, rabbits and a puppy. This event is supported by the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

BAD ELVES BUG RUN: Santa’s Bad Elves Bug Run will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Local Tap and Grill, 2242 Greenville Road, Mecca, to raise money to support the 20th annual Santa Run scheduled for Aug. 15.
