ANNUAL EVENT IN MCDONALD: The 46th annual John Pete Checkers tournament will take place 1 p.m. today at the Woodland Park pavilion, McDonald. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. The winner of each age group will receive a prize awarded at the conclusion of the tournament.

YARD SALE WEEKEND: Leavittsburg will host its annual summer yard sales Friday through Sunday throughout the township. Signs will be posted letting people know which homes are participating.

FLU VACCINES: The Warren City Health District will be providing a public COVID-19/flu vaccine clinic 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday on the third floor of the health district, 258 E. Market St., Warren. No appointments are needed.

PET OXYGEN MASKS FUNDRAISER: Legacy Dog Rescue and Never Muzzled will host a pet oxygen mask fundraiser noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Quaker Steak and Lube, 5800 Patriot Blvd., Austintown. The fundraiser is to provide local fire departments with pet oxygen masks, specifically designed to deliver oxygen to dogs and cats suffering from smoke inhalation and respiratory distress, which are often not included in standard emergency equipment.

The community is invited to attend the basket raffle, vendors and other fun activities.
