Seeing eye: Retire old flags

FLAG RETIREMENT: The third annual flag retirement ceremony will be at noon Saturday at Newton Falls city park, 410 S. Center St. The event is for anyone to participate or learn more about proper flag etiquette.

PINTS AND PLANTS The Ashtabula and Trumbull County Young Ag Professionals invite you to their upcoming Pints and Plants event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Kassay Greenhouse, 1158 Route 322, Orwell. The event offers a unique opportunity to sip, socialize, and get your hands a little dirty. The evening is designed to blend casual networking with creative, hands-on fun, providing a relaxed atmosphere for attendees to connect with their peers in the agricultural industry.

During the workshop, participants will be guided through creating their own custom potted herb garden to take home for the spring growing season.

Registration for the event is strictly limited to 25 attendees. The cost to attend is $25 for Farm Bureau members and $40 for non-members, and all guests must be 21 or older to enjoy the pints provided. All ages are welcome though. LATIN DANCING: USA Dance Youngstown-Warren Chapter #2015 brings FREE Latin Mania to Penguin City, and for the Feehley family, it’s truly a family affair.

Every Wednesday in May, dancers of all ages and experience levels come together starting at 6 p.m. to learn and enjoy Salsa, Bachata, Rumba and Merengue, followed by a lively dance party. From seasoned dancers to first‒timers, everyone is welcome–and the young Feehleys are right there on the dance floor, sharing the joy, rhythm, and connection that make Latin dance so special.

VACCINE CLINIC: The Warren City Health District, 258 E. Market St., will be providing a public Covid-19/Flu Vaccine Clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. No appointment needed.

DARK ROOM SOCIETY: The Girard Free Library will have the Dark Room Society present Creepypasta Casualties at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Dark Room Society is a monthly meeting for horror fans, games and creators. The group watches movies, plays survival games and builds things.

GUEST AUTHOR: McKinley Memorial Library will present, Dangerous Magic, Enchanting Romance, and Painting the Future with Elizabeth Lim, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, streamed live online.

Bestselling author Elizabeth Lim will discuss her latest work, “A Forgery of Fate,” which features a cursed dragon lord and a plot to bring down the gods. Recommended for ages 12 and up. Presented in partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium.

CHAIR YOGA: McKinley Memorial Library will present Chair Yoga 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. Mary Brown of A Moment for Me Yoga and Wellness Center will guide participants through gentle stretches using a chair for support. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, Ext. 3.

KIDS CLUB: McKinley Memorial Library will present Kids Club: Tectonics and a Baking Soda Volcano, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the McKinley Birthplace Home.

Children ages 5 to 11 years are invited on the first and third Thursday of every month to enjoy a fun activity related to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). This week, students will learn about the basics of tectonics, including plate boundaries, then head outside to see a model eruption.

CHURCH GARAGE SALE: The Second Annual Garage Sale Fundraiser, supporting St. Vincent de Paul will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, at 6552 Oak Hill Drive, West Farmington.
