TRAIN SHOW: The Great Lakes Large Scale Train Expo will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Metroplex Expo Center, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty. There will be two days of large-scale train fun, with a 27,000-square-foot area of large scale model trains. There will be children’s activities, including hands on clinics, door prizes and model train contest with prizes awarded. Tickets are $10 one day or $15 for two days with children 12 and under free
HOPE CONFERENCE: The Warren City Health District will be setting up informational tables at The Hope Conference 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Covelli Centre, 229 E Front St., Youngstown. For information, call 330-841-2596.
PLANT PROPAGATION FOR KIDS: Get your hands dirty in the best way at “Leaf it to me!” at the Girard Free Library at 5 p.m. Thursday. Children ages 5-12 will help divide two of the library’s monstera plants and then discover the basics of plant propagation and care. They will take home their own monstera cutting with instructions for transplanting and care. Call 330-545-2508 to register.
CRAFTING HOUR: Mckinley Memorial Library will present Teen Scene: Low-Key Crafting Hour 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. Teens ages 12-18 are invited for some casual crafting where they will choose from a variety of projects and enjoy relaxing lo-fi music. All supplies will be provided. WISDOM AND TECHNOLOGIES: McKinley Memorial Library will host “Ancient Wisdom and Modern Technologies for Peak Brain Performance” with Dr. Patrick K. Porter and Ruchika Sikri at 2 p.m. Thursday in partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium.
