The seeing eye

GIRARD CANCELS EVENT: The originally scheduled Girard Liberty Park centennial celebration for Saturday has been canceled due to weather. At this time, there is no rescheduled date.

CAST & CATCH FISHIN’ FRIDAY: Cast and Catch Fishin’ Friday will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Mosquito Lake Marina, 1439 Wilson Sharpsville Road, Bazetta. The beginner-friendly fishing session will have a park naturalist on hand and to offer basic instruction and help you get set up. Fishing poles and bait will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own equipment. All ages welcome. Participants age 16 and older must have a valid Ohio fishing license. Licenses can be purchased at the Mosquito Lake Marina and Boat Rental prior to the program. For information, call 330-637-2856.

For information, call 330-568-4590. You must pre-register for this event. Space is limited. Tickets limited to 30.

GRAND OPENING: The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will host a ribbon cutting 11 a.m. today for the opening of Cornerstone Counseling, 320 E. Market St., Warren. The new office marks the second location for Cornerstone Counseling’s expansion to access mental health counseling services.

COMMUNITY CHOIR: The Joyful Connections Community Chorus will present a free concert 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Eastwood Mall center concourse in Niles. The concert, “Music Through the Decades,” will feature songs from the 1950s to the present.
