Bee there: Local beekeeper to share expertise, facts at event
LET IT BEE: Let It “Bee” with Trumbull County Beekeepers Association will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Warren Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW. John Moss, a beekeeper with the Trumbull County Beekeepers Association, will share his expertise, fun facts about bees and why they are important. He will bring his beekeeping suit, a smoker and honey for the children to taste. Afterward, get buzzy with some bee crafts. For families with children ages 5 and up. Free.
NILES CITY CLEANUP: Niles city is hosting a cleanup day that was postponed from last weekend due to inclement weather. The group and volunteers plan to meet from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Niles Greenway Central Park Trailhead on East Church Street. Pickers, vests and gloves provided by Geauga-Trumbull County Solid Waste Management District to anyone participating.
AWL FUNDRAISER: The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County is hosting a fundraising dinner Saturday at DiVieste’s Banquet Centre, 754 North River Road, Warren. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 5:30 p.m. The dinner will honor longtime AWL volunteers Dr. Rufus Sparks and Ned Gold. MOSS HOUSE: The Moss Ancestral Home, 1499 Burnett, and the Mineral Ridge Historical Society, 1476 Burnett St., will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. the second Sundays in April through November.
CHURCH HOSTS CONCERT: The Cortland Church of the Nazarene, 298 E, Main St., Cortland, will host the Calvary’s Love in concert at 10:45 a.m. Sunday for Calvary’s Love is based in Doylestown. Following the concert guests can attend a potluck lunch.
FOWLER MUSEUM: The Butts Family Museum, 4562 Wilson Sharpsville Road, will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Historic items of Fowler will be displayed as well as celebration of America 250 theme.
CULINARY DELIGHTS: Culinary Delights: Afternoon Tea will take place 1 p.m. Saturday at the Brookfield Library, 7032 Grove St. Learn about the history, traditions, and differences between High Tea, Afternoon Tea, and Elevenses while enjoying some sumptuous bites. FAIR HOUSING: McKinley Memorial LIbrary will present Fair Housing with Community Legal Aid from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. Amber McCollum, with Community Legal Aid, will explain the basics of the Fair Housing Law in Ohio and Community Legal Aid’s advocacy mission. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, ext. 3.
