Seeing Eye: Area schools hosting student art shows

SCHOOL ART SHOWS: Roosevelt Elementary School in McDonald will host a school art show 5 to 8 p,m. Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Mineral Ridge High School will host a student art show at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and the drama club play “Hairspray” at 7 p.m. both days at the high school auditorium. Play tickets are $6 for students and $10 for adults.

HELPING ANIMALS: A meeting to discuss ways to improve animal welfare in the community will be 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Country Grind, 4780 state Route 305, Southington. Refreshments will be served There will be animal welfare representatives from Mahoning and Trumbull counties in attendance. TASTE OF LIBERTY: The annual Taste of Liberty fundraiser will be 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Liberty High School. Tickets are $25 and include food and beverage samples. Tickets will be sold at he door. Proceeds benefit Liberty schools students and programs.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS: Hubbard St. Patrick Parish Health and Wellness Ministry will host a free health fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the parish center, 357 N. Main St. There will be more than 20 health care vendors. A mammography van and dental van will be at the event.

TRIVIA NIGHT: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will host a Trivia Night at 8 p.m. Wednesday, where individuals or teams compete in pop culture, history, literature, science and unexpected oddities.

GRIEF 101: McKinley Memorial Library will present: Grief 101 from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. Participants will learn about the grieving process and how to create a new normal as they work through grief. The seminar will be presented by LSW Bereavement Facilitator Kim Calhoun from Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley by Compassus. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, Ext. 3.

BOOK CLUB: McKinley Memorial Library will present Mystery Readers’ Book Club at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles.

MARKET RETURNS: The Trumbull County Mobile Market is returning to the McKinley Memorial Library from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, with fresh, nutritious produce and goods. This is a public event for anyone 18 and older in Trumbull County.

FLU VACCINE CLINIC: The Warren City Health District will provide a public COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinic 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, at the Health District, 258 E. Market St., Warren. No appointment is needed.

WELLNESS ON WHEELS: The Warren City Health District’s Wellness on Wheels will be onsite 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Warren Family Mission, 155 Tod Ave. NW, Warren. For more information, call 330-841-2596.
