Library invites kids to experiment

SCIENCE DAY: The Cortland Library Branch, 578 Lakeview Drive, will host Science Saturday for children ages 5-11, 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event is free. Children can engage in hands-on experiments and activities to explore the scientific method and a variety of science concepts. Kids should dress to get messy. No registration is needed.
JCC SPRING BREAK CAMP: The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, is offering a spring break camp for students in grades K-8, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1-3 and April 6-10. Kids will enjoy science experiments, swimming, Olympic-style games, a petting zoo, a carnival day and more. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided, but students must bring a packed lunch.
The cost is $40 per day. Visit jccyoungstown.org/jcare to register. Drop-in care is not available; students must be registered in advance.
SWING INTO SPRING: The Champion Schools Senior Citizens Advisory Council will host its 13th annual Swing into Spring dinner theatre and awards program 5 p.m. April 9 at the Champion PK-8 School cafeteria. Reservations are required to Lynda Norton at 330-747-2338. Tickets are $6 per person. The reservation deadline is April 8. The Senior Citizen Artist of the Year Award will be presented. The Champion High School jazz band will perform.
EASTER CELEBRATION: Hubbard First Presbyterian Church will host an Easter celebration at 1 p.m. Saturday, which will include games, crafts, prizes and snacks. There will be an egg hunt at 2 p.m. in three age groups.
GREEK INDEPENDENCE DAY: The Greek Independence Day celebration will take place Sunday following the 10 a.m. Divine Liturgy at St. Demetrios Parish, 429 High St. NE, Warren. Parish members will parade around the outside of the church, weather permitting, followed by a Green School presentation and Lenten luncheon.
CHIPS FOR KIDS FUNDRAISER: Alta Care Behavioral Healthcare Group will host the second annual Chips for Kids fundraiser 7 to 10 p.m. today at Aulizio’s Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown Road SE, Warren. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets at $75 per person at Chips For Kids 2026 | Alta Care Group Inc/.Those attending can dress in your finest 1920s black-tie-inspired attire to travel back to the decade of jazz, speakeasies and high-stakes excitement with blackjack and poker.
TASTE OF LIBERTY: The fourth annual Taste of Liberty will be 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Liberty High School. Tickets are $25 per person and will include food and beverage samples from a dozen Liberty eateries. Tickets sold only at the door. Proceeds to benefit Liberty Schools, students and programs.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS: The Warren City Federation of Women’s Clubs is seeking applications for a $750 scholarship to be awarded in April. The scholarship is designed to assist a Trumbull County woman in furthering her education in an accredited educational program. The applicant must be 24 years of age or older and a resident of Trumbull County. The applicant must submit a written narrative describing her career goals and her plan on how to achieve these goals. Applications are available by contacting Louise at 330-727-8515. Applications are due by March 31.
