Seeing Eye: K9s For Compassion program planned at Girard Free Library
K9s FOR COMPASSION: The Girard Free Library will host a K9s For Compassion program at 6 p.m. today where children up to age 12 can read a story to one of the organization’s trained therapy dogs. Registration is required.
WINTER STORYTIME: McKinley Memorial Library in Niles presents Winter Storytime at 11 a.m. today in the children’s room of the library. Caregivers and their children ages 0-4 are invited to attend storytime to encourage a love of reading with stories, songs and crafts. Each week will feature a different theme.
LOVE STINKS: The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Teen Central, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, will host the 15th annual Love Stinks Chocolate Fest at 6 p.m. Tuesday for ages 12 to 18.
SUPERHERO STORYTIME: The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, will host Superheroes and Stories at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the library for children ages 6 to 8. A superhero themed story will be followed by games, crafts and activities. To register, call 330-399-8807 ext. 205.
MARDI GRAS POTLUCK: The Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., will host a Mardi Gras potluck luncheon 12 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Festive dress is welcome. Bring a dish to the event to share. Call 330-545-6596 to sign up.
VALENTINE”S PROGRAM: The Girard Free Library will host a Valentine ‘s Day program at 6 p.m. Wednesday. There will be Valentine’s Day activities with materials provided. Registration is required at 330-545-2408.
LACERS OF THE LAKE: The McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum in Niles, 40 N. Main St., will host a class noon to 2 p.m. Saturday featuring seven members from the Lacers of the Lake. The members will demonstrate several different techniques, including bobbin lace and crochet. Registration is required by calling Belinda at 330-652-4273. Participants will have the opportunity to try different lacing.
GRIEF 101: McKinley Memorial Library will present Grief 101 from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. Participants will learn about the grieving process and how to create a new normal as they work through their grief. The session will be presented by LSW Bereavement Facilitator Kimberly Calhoun from Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley by Compassus. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, ext. 3.

VACCINE CLINIC: The Warren City Health District will offer a COVID-19 and flu vaccine Clinic9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Warren City Health District, 258 E.
