Library to help get kids school ready

KINDERGARTEN EVENT: A Bridge to Kindergarten Transition Fair will take place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Warren Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. The free event is open to Trumbull County children entering kindergarten in fall 2026.
Displays will show how to prepare a child for kindergarten. There will prizes and giveaways. Children with sensory needs are encouraged to arrive after 11:30 a.m.
MEN WHO COOK FUNDRAISER: Boy Scout Troop 28 in Howland will host the Men Who Cook fundraiser 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Howland Community Church, 198 Niles Cortland Road. The event will feature local celebrity chefs preparing their best dishes. Guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dish. There also will be a basket raffle.

PUMPKIN GROWING: The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers Club is offering its annual Beginners Giant Pumpkin Growers seminar 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Parks Garden Center in Canfield. The free seminar will be led by Tim Parks, who will discuss the arts and sciences of growing giant pumpkins. Club members will be on hand to help get you started on your journey to becoming a grower.
