Seeing Eye: McKinley Birthplace Home presents ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: The McKinley Birthplace Home will present “The Twelve Days of Christmas: A History” at 2 p.m. Saturday. Belinda Weiss, a historian, Christmas enthusiast and director of the National McKinley Birthplace Museum in Niles, will share the history behind the classic Christmas carol. CHESS NIGHT: New Covenant Baptist Church, 1606 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown, will host “Chess Night 3” from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Those wishing to play or learn to play are invited to this free event. For information, call 234-719-8461.

WINTER NIGHTS: Mill Creek MetroParks is presenting a free outdoor light experience from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown.

CANDLELIGHT SERVICE: Unity Spiritual Centre, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will hold a Christmas candlelight service 7 p.m. Tuesday. The service will include celebratory harp music by Harper Kirk and a message by Larry Etheridge.

HOLIDAY SERVICES: Newton Falls First Baptist Church, 2640 S. Canal St., will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: Hubbard Church of Nazarene, 1815 Cherry Lane, SE, will hold a Christmas cantata program at 10:45 a.m. Sunday with the church choir. Christmas Eve candlelight service is 6 p.m. Wednesday.

OPEN HOUSE: The Howland Historical Society will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday for the historic Yellow House, 8702 South St. SE The house has been decorated for the holiday season. This will be the last open house until March.
