HOWLAND WELCOMES THE HOLIDAYS: Howland Township will welcome the holidays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Orwig Park. There will be food trucks, gingerbread house contest, Howland High School choir performance, cookie decorating, and arrival of Santa at 5:15 p.m.
SCOPE PERFORMANCE: The SCOPE Senior Valley Choir will perform at 4 p.m. today at the Eastwood Mall in Niles.
GINGERBREAD FEST: The Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave, NW, will host a gingerbread fest at 4:30 p,.m. Sunday,
CHRISTMAS IN THE VILLAGE: McDonald village will host its annual Christmas in the Village at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Park and at the fire station. Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck. There will be crafts, tree lighting, wagon rides through the village and refreshments.
MCKINLEY CHRISTMAS: The 13th annual McKinley Christmas will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Birthplace Home, 40 S. Main St., Niles. There will be holiday celebrations at the McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum, Niles Historical Society's Ward Thomas House, and Von Isley Estate. There will be activities at each location.
REDEDICATION CEREMONY: The Trumbull County Civil War Monument 135-year rededication ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday starting at the log cabin in downtown Warren. There will be a program about the monument and its history and also sword presentation. There will be a Civil War Honor Guard program. There will be several speakers including the Trumbull County Historical Society and Trumbull Veterans Services.
HUBBARD PARADE: The Hubbard holiday Christmas parade will be 5 p.m. Saturday, with the parade starting at the high school and traveling along Hall Avenue, turn east onto West Liberty Street, and then end by turning north on Stewart Avenue. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at Tylee Park (next to the fire station) to visit with children in Santa's cottage. Parade lineup begins at 4 p.m.
SWING BAND CHRISTMAS: The Girard Community Swing Band will perform a free Christmas concert 6 p.m. Sunday at Girard First Baptist Church, 140 E. Broadway. The event is free.
WEATHERSFIELD HOLIDAY: Weathersfield Township will host its annual tree lighting 5 p.m. Saturday at the park off Route 46. Santa and Mrs. Claus will attend.
HARTFORD WELCOMES HOLIDAYS: Hartford Township will welcome the holidays at 6 p.m. Sunday with a tree lighting at the township center, Route 7 and 305.
LIBERTY TREE LIGHTING: Liberty Township will host a tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday at the township administration building, where Santa Claus will arrive.
NATIVITY LIGHTING: St. Rose Church in Girard will light the nativity in front of the church following 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday. There will be a special blessing.
WINTER STORYTIMES: McKinley Memorial Library presents Weekly Storytimes, 11 a.m. Dec. 8 and 15 in the children's room of the library.
Caregivers and their children ages 0-4 years are invited to attend storytime to encourage a love of reading with fun stories, songs and crafts. Each week will feature a different theme. Storytime will not be held on Dec. 22 or 29. To register, call 330-652-1704.
