Holidays in Hartford to feature crafters, baked goods, small businesses

HOLIDAYS IN HARTFORD: Holidays in Hartford will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hartford municipal building on state Route 305 and other locations around the township center off state Route 7. The day allows for choosing from a wide variety of crafters, baked goods and items from small businesses. Lunch will be served at the Hartford Community Church on Route 7. Each participating location will have maps and punch cards. Punch cards when punched can be entered into a raffle drawing.
ADOPTION DAY: Judge James Fredericka of the Trumbull County Probate Court will host an Adoption Day celebration at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Attendees will witness adoptions and see a foster child adopted by their forever family. The event also will serve as a celebration for other adoptions that have taken place this year. Lakeview High School students have contributed themed artwork for the event. Fredericka sponsors the event with Trumbull County Children Services. For information, call 330-675-2521.
CRAFT NIGHT: Girard Free Library will host an Artist Craft Night 6 at p.m today for readers of all ages. Children and families are invited to create a one of a kind handcrafted bookmark using stickers, markers and other mixed media materials.
VETERANS DAY LUNCHEON: Cortland Healthcare Center, 369 N. High St., Cortland, is hosting a Veterans Day Luncheon at 11 a.m. Tuesday. No registration is necessary for the free event. Featured will be guest speakers from area veteran services and local nonprofit organizations, patriotic hymns, an honorary pinning ceremony and catered luncheon.
COLORING CLUB: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will host a Coloring Club 5 to 6 pm. Wednesday. Adults will be able to color at the McKinley Birthplace Home. Bring your own supplies or use the supplies provided..
COPING WITH GRIEF: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will offer “Coping with Grief During the Holidays” at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Birthplace Home, The one-time grief support session for anyone mourning the loss of a loved one during the holiday season. LEAF COLLECTION: The city of Girard is requiring the use of paper lawn bags for the annual leaf collection. Leaves are not to be raked to the street and will not be picked up by the city. Bags can be picked up 8 a.m. to 2 p. m Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays through Nov. 29 at at Girard Street Department, 943 S. State St. The first five bags are provided at no cost with identification and proof of residency. Bags are five for $1. Call 330-545-3306.
THANKSGIVING MEAL: Cortland Healthcare Center, 369 N. High St., Cortland, is giving away free Thanksgiving dinners to area seniors 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday.
To register, call 330-638-4015. Meals will be available to pick up under the main entrance. Those picking up meals should remain in their vehicles.
