CANDELIGHT VIGIL: The Survivors of Suicide support group will host its 27th annual candlelight vigil 6 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Community Church, 4600 Eagle Creek Road, Leavittsburg. The event is in remembrance of Valerie Kopiak and all loved ones lost to suicide. The event is being cosponsored by HelpNetwork.

STORYTIME AT THE FIRE STATION: Storytime with Mrs. Claus will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Southington fire station. Children can listen to Mrs. Claus read a story and then make an ornament to take home.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY: New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, 1590 Tod Ave. SW, Warren, will mark its 45th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest speaker Darryl Rodgers of Trinity Baptist Church in Warren. The host pastor is the Rev. Robert L. Stringer.

PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA: Pet photos with Santa Claus will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the center concourse at the Eastwood Mall in Niles.

CHRISTMAS VENDORS: Christmas at the Farmhouse craft and vendor show will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1097 state Route 305, SW, Newton Falls.

CAN THE CRUISER: The 15th annual Can the Cruiser and Fill a Squad will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2017 Millennium Blvd., Bazetta. Donations are needed of nonperishable food items, personal care products or cash donations for families in need in the Bazetta and Cortland area. All donations will be given to the Cortland Area Cares food pantry. Donations also are being accepted this week at the Bazetta fire and police departments.

MATHEWS HALL OF FAME: The Mathews Hall of Fame committee is requesting nominations for the 2026 class of honorees. Accomplished graduates of Fowler, Vienna or Mathews high schools are eligible for consideration. Community members or former staff who have contributed significantly to the school district also are eligible for nomination. Forms are available on the Mathews Local Schools website, the Mathews Hall of Fame Facebook page or by contacting Terry Woodyard at 330-638-5995. A fee of $10 must be sent with the nomination form. The deadline to submit a candidate for the 2026 class is Dec. 31.
