FARMERS MARKET: Girard will hold its final farmers market 5 to 7 p.m. today on the green, 100 W. Main St. There will be produce, food trucks, artisans and music by Dead Flowers.
NIGHT AT THE RACES: The Alba Club will be hosting a "Night at the Races" at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Ali Baba Grotto Hall, 760 Perkins Jones Road, Warren.
Cost is $10 at the door, which includes food and drink.
There will be 10 races -- each race has 10 horses. The cost for each horse is $15 or five for $50 on a first-come, first-served basis. Cash only. Participants can name their own horse and sponsor an entire race for $50.

TRUNK OR TREAT: Trinity Lutheran Church, 2742 North Road NE, Warren, will hold Trunk or Treat 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be prizes and games.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside.
WARREN MUSIC CLUB: The Warren Music Club will meet 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of Karl and Jeannine Morris.
Mack Hassler will read "On Children" by Kahlil Gibran. Program chair, Shelly Cory-Shafer, will present "Adventures in Folk Music."
The club choral ensemble will sing "Holy Manna" by Kenneth Lowenberg and Karl Morris will sing the folk song, "Shenandoah." Group singing of folk songs will include "O, Susanna," "On Top of Old Smokey" and "Home on the Range."
The course of study will include the history of folk music and stories about folk songs. The NFMC Benediction, "The Gift of Song," composed by past NFMC President Lana Bailey, will be accompanied by Elaine Maki.
Refreshments will be served. The public is invited to the program.
YELLOW HOUSE OPEN: The Howland Historical will hold an open house 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Mackey Yellow House, 8205 South Street SE. Admission is free.
JA STOCK MARKET CHALLENGE: Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio is turning Williamson Hall into Wall Street for the second annual JA Stock Market Challenge on Friday. More than 100 high school students from Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties will compete in a stock market simulation.
Students, grouped in teams, will buy and sell stocks while reacting to real-world events that impact the market. Local business leaders will serve as floor traders, guiding students through 60 "trading days," each lasting just one minute.
LEAF COLLECTION: The city of Girard is requiring the use of paper lawn bags for its annual leaf collection. Leaves raked to the street will not be picked up by the city. The city has a bulk quantity of bags available to residents, while supplies last, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday through Nov. 29 at the Girard Street Department, 943 S. State St.
The first five bags are provided at no cost upon proof of residency. If additional bags are needed, the cost is $1 for five bags. For information, call 330-545-3306.
