The seeing eye

OKTOBERFEST IN VILLAGE: McDonald village will hold its annual Oktoberfest 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Park. The event will include music, beer, food, vendors, and children’s activities and games.

MOSS HOUSE OPEN HOUSE: The Moss Ancestral Home and the Mineral Ridge Historical Society will hold an open house 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The public can tour the 1800s Pennsylvania Bank-style house at 1400 Burnett St. The historical society museum is located across the street and contains artifacts and pictures from the area.

SQUARE DANCE: The Friendly Squares will host their monthly square dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Niles Scope Center, 14 E. State St. Neil Harnar will be the caller. The theme for the dance is Halloween. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Cider and donuts will be served by the refreshment committee. There is a $7 cost per person at the door. FALLFEST: The Champion Board of Education and Champion Schools Senior Citizen Advisory Council will hold the annual Fall Fest 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 16, which is an appreciation luncheon and award program for Champion senior citizens. The event will be held in the PK-8 school’s yellow gymnasium. The 2025 Senior Citizen of the Year award will be presented by the Champion Rotary Club.

The lunch cost is $7, paid at the door. Reservations are needed by Monday by calling 330-847-2338.

TOWNSHIP ASSOCIATION GALA: The Trumbull Township Association will meet 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at Candlelight Knolls Banquet Center, 2619 Hoagland Blackstub Road, Bazetta. Guest speaker is Central District Court Judge Thomas Campbell.
