SOCIETY TO HEAR FROM PHOTOGRAPHER: The Howland Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. today at the township administration building for a program with Mike Semple, photojournalist for the Tribune Chronicle. Semple will discuss his years of experience taking pictures. Light refreshments will be served.
TRUSTEE ASSOCIATION: Trumbull Township Association will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Southington Community Park, intersection of state Routes 534 and 305. Social time is 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting. The event is being sponsored by the Southington and Farmington trustees. The guest speaker is Andy Leech, OTARMA representative. Dinner is $25 per person with reservations to Rebecca at 330-772-3961 or Dennis at 330-898-8557. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be at the Southington fire station.
TRAIN DISPLAY: The Moss Ancestral House in Weathersfield will have a train display 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1499 Burnett St. John Godleski will use the Rev. Arthur Wright model railroad collection to present Mineral Ridge and Niles circa 1850-1870. The historical society museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m each day. The Mineral Ridge Historical Society Museum is located across the street.
FALL IN THE WOODS: Fall in the Woods, hosted by the Wooden Barn Shop, will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Hartford Hill Winery, 3864 Bushnell Campbell Road, Fowler. There will be vendors, food trucks and musical entertainment. Parking is free.
SCIENCE SUNDAY: The OH WOW! Silly Science Sunday will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wean Park. This 15th annual STEAM Festival features hands-on interactive STEM displays and robotics.
MILITARY TRAINING: Residents and business owners near Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center in Newton Falls, may notice an increase in blast noise from the area. Explosives will be used during training conducted by the Ohio Army National Guard's 147th Regiment (Regional Training Institute) Tuesday and Wednesday.
