HISTORY NIGHT: The Leavittburg Heritage Association will host History Night at the Museum at 6:30 p.m. today at their museum, 4901 W. Market St. Speaker will be James Dickey, who will share about his family businesses, Greene's Leavittsburg Feed Mill and Greene's Market and Diner. The event is free.
'TITANIC, TRAGEDY OF ERRORS:' The Bristol Public Library presents "Titanic, Tragedy of Errors" at 5 p.m. Monday. Thomas Edwards' Titanic program follows the life of the Titanic from its inception to build a passenger ship that was bigger and more luxurious than any ship afloat to the collision with the iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912, and the results of the Board of Inquiry. Registration is required and can be made by contacting the circulation desk at 330-889-3651.
CLUB HOSTS MEETING: The Warren Music Club, a member of the Ohio and National Federation of Music Clubs, will meet at 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of Karl and Jeannine Morris. Federation Day and orientation will be observed to welcome new members. Attendees will sing "Low Bridge, Everybody Down," the NFMC Song of the Month, accompanied by Karen Hunt. Mack Hassler will read "Dreams" by Langston Hughes from A Year in Verse published by NFMC. Program chair Karl Morris will introduce the program of music by American and Irish composers including "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess sung by Amanda Beagle, and the club choral ensemble will sing "When in Our Music God Is Glorified." Pictures and stories from the NFMC Convention in Austin, Texas and the NE Region Federation Weekend at Chautauqua Institution in New York state will be presented by Jeannine Morris. Four NFMC monetary awards to the club will be announced at the business meeting. Elaine Maki will accompany the NFMC Benediction "The Gift of Song" by Lana M. Bailey. A pot-luck supper will be served. The program and supper are open to the public.
W.I.N.G.S. FOUNDATION: Windsor House Inc. of Girard has launched the W.I.N.G.S. Foundation (Workforce Initiatives for Needs, Guidance, and Support), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to provide financial and emotional support to Windsor House employees during times of personal crisis or hardship. W.I.N.G.S. was established as a lifeline for employees navigating unexpected challenges such as medical emergencies, natural disasters, loss or other personal crises. BRISTOL MEMORIAL: After collaboration with township trustees in Bristolville, a criteria has been established for name additions to the Bristolville Veterans Memorial in Bristol Center. The Bristolville Veterans Memorial Fund is now accepting donations, which can be made out to the Bristol Township trustees for the memorial fund. This will ensure that names can be added at no cost to veterans. Criteria: must have lived in Bristol for 25-plus years; must have a DD214 with honorable discharge and must have served during wartime.
