Seeing Eye: Library plans Back to School Bash for Saturday
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles will hold a Back to School Bash at 10 a.m. Saturday on the library grounds. There will be a school supply giveaway, games, crafts and refreshments while supplies last. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the library. The event is being sponsored by the Shepherds Home Ministries.
EVENT RESCHEDULED: The Friends of the McKinley Memorial Library in Niles has rescheduled its summer picnic on the lawn event to 5:30 p.m. Thursday on the library grounds.
SOCIETY 50 YEARS: The Girard Historical Society is marking its 50th anniversary 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday with “Cheers to 50 Years: A Semicentennial Celebration” with band performances set at Black Horse Tavern in Girard. There will be a car show, food vendors, Girard Free Library representatives, raffle and dancing on Market Street between Liberty Street and Main Street. Music by Dead Flowers and 3 Three Yo. The event is free to the public.
UPTON HOLDS OPEN HOUSE: The Harriet Taylor Upton Association will present an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Upton House, 380 Mahoning Ave., Warren, where guests will be able to tour the historic home. The open house will feature a display of vintage banks from the collection of Judi and Terry Sheridan.
