Moss Ancestral Home plans open house
OPEN HOUSE: The Moss Ancestral Home and Mineral Ridge Historical will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at 1499 and 1476 Burnett St. in Mineral Ridge. The Moss Ancestral Home is a Pennsylvania Bank Style house and was built in the 1830s. The society is across the street and is filled with area artifacts and pictures. They are both open the second Sunday of every month from now until November.
SOCIETY TO MEET: The Trumbull County Genealogical Society will meet 10 a,.m. Tuesday at the Howland Branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 9095 East Market Street. This is a change of location for the meeting. Theresa Brown, head of the Mayflower Group, along with other associates, will explain how to join the Mayflower Society, how to fill out the forms to join and how to read the Mayflower Books in the Local History and Genealogy Center.
All meetings are free and open to the public. The new website address is trumbullcountygenealogy.org.
FISHING DERBY: A fishing derby for children of all ages will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hubbard Conservation Club, 1760 Wick Campbell Road.
HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS: The American Association of University Women Warren-Trumbull County Branch will hold a human trafficking awareness day from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren. The event is open to the public. There will be a panel discussion and resource fair on the facts and myths of human trafficking, prevalence in Trumbull County and how to advocate for victims and survivors and the resources available.
The resource fair starts at 5 p.m., followed by a refreshments reception. `
