APPLE CIDER FEST: The Lordstown Apple Cider Festival will be Friday to Sunday at the Lordstown school grounds at the corner of state Route 45 and Salt Springs Road. There will be a parade, fireworks, craft show and amusement rides by McGinnis Amusement Co. There will be live music on Friday. On Saturday will be a spaghetti dinner hosted by the Lordstown Senior Center, a cornhole tournament and fireworks at 10 p.m. On Sunday there will be a 5K run at 9:30 a.m. and a parade at 3 p.m.
BICYCLE EVENT: The Outspokin Wheelmen Bicycle Club will sponsor the 51st annual Northeast Ohio ride with registration between 7 and 10 a.m. Sunday at the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, 6400 state Route 46, Mecca. Registration is $35 the day of the event. The bicycle route is through mostly flat terrain in Trumbull County, New this year is a 25-mile route with a stop at the Hartford Hills Winery fall fest. Riders can select a 10-mile route or two 50-mile routes. Rides start at 7 a.m. and end at the Moose Lodge at 5 p.m. Lunch will be provided. For information, call Lori Swan 330-550-3621.
RIBBON CUTTING: Trumbull County commissioners will take part at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in a ribbon cutting for the new Trumbull County Mobile Market presented by ACTION and Flying HIGH Inc. The ribbon cutting will be at the Trumbull County administration building.
OPEN HOUSE: McKinley Birthplace Home, 40 S. Main St., Niles, will host an open house 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The McKinley Birthplace Home is a replica of the house where U.S. President William McKinley was born on Jan. 29, 1843. As part of the Ohio History Connection's Ohio Open Doors, the Birthplace Home will be open for extended hours. Guided, self-guided and audio tours will be offered based on staff availability. JFK 1972: The John F. Kennedy High School Class of 1972 will host its 70th birthday celebration 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at CharBenay's Wine on the River, 220 W. Market St., Warren. ANNUAL CAR SHOW: The Eighth Annual Car Show hosted by the Alba Club will be noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Ali Baba Grotto, 760 Perkins Jones Road, Warren. Registration is 10 a.m. to noon and cost is $10. Lunch will be available and Dash Plaques will go to the first 50 cars registered. There also will be a 50/50 raffle and a basket raffle.
CEMETERY WALK: McKinley Memorial Library presents a Cemetery Walk 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Learn about the history of prominent area residents from the past with representatives from the Niles Historical Society and the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum. The program is free and participants should meet at the Niles Union Cemetery chapel off the Niles-Cortland Road entrance to the cemetery. If inclement weather occurs, the program will be canceled with no rain date.
CRAFT SHOW: The Gillette craft and vendor show will be noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at 3310 Elm Road, Warren. There will be a basket raffle and a food truck. Any crafters and vendors who would like to register should contact Angie at 330-503-0709 for details. There is a $10 registration fee and a basket donation.
WGH 1959: Warren G. Harding Class of 1959 will have its 65th and final get together at 1 p.m. Sept. 21, at Sunrise Inn in Warren. WORLD WEEK OF PRAYER: The Unity Spiritual Centre, 1126 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, is hosting a World Week of Prayer with various events that emphasize the power of collective prayer. This year's theme is "Moving Mountains."
The Rev. Rose Houston will lead a program with prayers and a ceremony honoring 9 / 11 at 6:30 p.m. The sanctuary will be opened to pray for all of those who are on the prayer lists from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, there will be hotdogs and s'mores around the fire and dancing to Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith's music TranscenDance. On Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, guests can take a mindfulness meditation walk on the grounds or in the sanctuary.
