GUERRIERI TO SPEAK: The National McKinley Birthplace Museum will host Vince Guerrieri to speak at noon Saturday. The topic is “The Decline and Fall of the Mahoning Valley Mob.”
By the 1960s, the Mahoning Valley was firmly known as Crimetown USA, a reputation cemented by mob wars in the late 1970s and again in the 1990s. This talk looks at that era, including the characters and political corruption.

OHIO OPEN DOORS: The Moss Ancestral Home and Mineral Ridge Historical Society will participate in the Ohio Open Doors event sponsored by the Ohio History Connection. Tour a 1830s Pennsylvania Bank-style home 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 1499 Burnett St., and learn about the history of Mineral Ridge and surrounding areas.
ANNIVERSARY SUMMIT: The Raymond John Wean Foundation will welcome Ruha Benjamin as the keynote speaker for its 75th Anniversary Summit on Tuesday at The Grand Resort in Warren.
Benjamin is the Alexander Stewart 1886 Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University, founding director of the Ida B. Wells Just Data Lab and author of several award-winning books.
