FAMILY DAY: Trumbull County Historical Society, in partnership with the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, will host the third annual free Family Day 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in and around the library at 444 Mahoning Ave. NW. Children of all ages will enjoy hands-on activities provided by local nonprofit organizations, from bubble fun to historical games, and Warren's police and fire departments will have vehicles on hand to tour. The library is kicking off its Summer Reading Program as well. Free lunch will be available to children from Babcia's Lunchbox Food Truck while supplies last.
GUEST SPEAKER: The Vienna Historical Society will host Joseph Lambert Jr. at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vienna United Methodist Church hall, 4265 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna. Lambert will discuss "The Political Transformation of David Tod: Governing Ohio during the height of the Civil War."
BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Hubbard Public Library will host a spring book sale 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the library meeting rooms. Bring your own bag and all you can carry is $5.
JCC CAMPUS OPEN: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown has opened its Logan Avenue campus, 3425 Logan Way, Liberty, New this year is a climbing aquatic wall in addition to the swimming pool, sand volleyball, tennis and pickleball courts, and pavilion.
CAR SHOW: The second annual car show will be noon to 3 p.m. Saturday with rain date Sunday at Gillette Skilled Nursing and Rehab, 3319 Elm Road, Warren. Trophies will be awarded. There will be a basket raffle, food trucks and live entertainment. Basket donations are appreciated and will benefit the activity department.
FISHING DERBY: The Eagle Creek Conservation Club will host the 50th animal Youth Fishing Derby noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Newton Falls Community Center pond. The event encourages youth interested in fishing and other pursuits. Each participant receives a tackle kit upon registration.
CAR SHOW: The Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., will host a car show fundraiser "The Cars are the Stars" benefit car show Saturday at the center grounds. There will be food, music, a basket raffle, 50-50 raffle and other raffles.
