SOLAR ECLIPSE EVENTS: The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is hosting events Saturday on the solar eclipse. Learn about the upcoming total solar eclipse and make eclipse glasses with Gene Zajac, a NASA Solar System Ambassador at 2 p.m. Saturday. Registration is required and is limited; call 330-399-8807, ext. 200 to sign up.
Make an eclipse button from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Library Maker Studio. Try the button maker to create your very own pinback button, featuring eclipse-themed designs to get ready for the total solar eclipse on Monday. All materials will be provided. For adults. SOLAR ECLIPSE HIKE: A solar eclipse educational hike will be Saturday and Sunday at Turkey Run Trail, 520 W. Main St., Cortland. The free event will be 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday. For information, call 330- 637-2856
TRAVEL CLUB TO VISIT COSI: Trumbull County Travel Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library. This is a predeparture meeting for those flying to San Antonio, Texas plus a slide show for the September National Parks vacation.
Veterans are invited to join members on May 15 to visit the National Veterans Museum in Columbus. Lunch is included on the excursion at the Hofbrauhaus Bavarian Restaurant.
TCTA SCHOLARSHIPS: Trumbull County graduating seniors who are Trumbull County Tennis Association members and have played varsity tennis, are eligible to apply for the TCTA Scholarships and Gary Dieter Memorial Scholarship awarded annually by the TCTA.
Applications are available from area high school guidance counselors, athletic directors or on the web at www.trumbullcountytennis.com. Entries must be postmarked by today and mailed to TCTA Scholarship Committee, c/o Marilyn Spahr, 2804 Crestwood Drive NW, Warren, OH 44485.
SPRING DANCE: The Steel Valley Corvette Club's 33rd annual Spring Dance will be 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Yankee Lake Ballroom in Brookfield. Tickets purchased in advance are $20 and walk-ins will be charged $22.
Entrance cost includes dancing to music by DJ Platter. Events include 50-50 and basket raffles.
Proceeds will benefit local Mahoning and Shenango Valley charities. Tickets may be purchased at Yankee Lake Party Center, from Steve at Greenwood Hubbard Chevrolet today or from any club member.

FUNDRAISER: The Community Volunteer Council will welcome Pastor Beverly Locke as a speaker at its annual Breakfast Brunch Fundraiser, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hippodrome Banquet Center, 150 High St., Warren. The theme is "Then and Now Still Standing." There also will be a style show by Five Grands Boutique in Warren.
