SCRAP COLLECTION: NEO JUNK and the Cortland Lions have again partnered to collect scrap metal from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday, at Willow Park. Proceeds will benefit improvements to the Cortland parks.
Club members will be at Willow Park to help remove scrap metal from vehicles or trailers.
As a community service, NEO JUNK will pick up scrap metal for Cortland and Bazetta Township residents only. NEO JUNK will not enter homes to retrieve scrap metal. Call 330-219-4879 to be put on a list to have scrap picked up Friday and Saturday or bring it to Willow Park. No computers, TVs or propane tanks will be accepted.
ARTISTS TO HELP ON MOSAIC: Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to paint clay tiles for a mosaic to be placed in Dave Grohl Alley. Warren, from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, at the McKinley Birthplace Home in Niles. HELMS Foundation staff will guide participants through the activity. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, ext. 3.
TALK TO A TRUSTEE: The Brookfield Township trustees will host a Talk With a Trustee from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Brookfield Library.
LIBERTY CLEANUP: The Liberty Township cleanup will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday weather permitting. Any clubs, groups or families interested in cleaning are asked to meet at the township administration building and will be assigned a street or volunteers can clean up their own streets. Gloves, bags and giveaways will be provided.
CHAMPION CLEANUP: Champion Township cleanup will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday by the township administration building. Enter from state Route 305 and exit through the cemetery onto state Route 45. Limit of eight tires per household. Identification is required.
MAD HATTER TEA PARTY: Sight for All United is hosting a Spring is in Sight: Mad Hatter Tea Party from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, at the Medici Museum of Art, Howland. This whimsical event will serve to highlight Sight for All United's mission.
The Mad Hatter Tea Party will include an afternoon of high tea, with decor inspired by "Alice in Wonderland." The event will be moderated by Lindsey Watson from WKBN. The highlight of the afternoon will be a fashion showcase, sponsored by Macy's including styles for the upcoming seasons paired with a collection of glasses and sunglasses.
Join Sight for All United in making a positive impact on the vision of those in the community. The event has been supported by Eye Care Associates, The Grand Resort and Medici Museum of Art.

PICNIC EVENT: A picnic benefit is being undertaken to help raise funds for Gabriel Baer and his battle against ALS. The picnic will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the old Firehouse Community Center, 1864 Greenville Road NW, Bristolville.
The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. Food, drink and raffles are included.
APRIL DANCE: The local USA Dance Youngstown Warren Chapter is sponsoring a Dance on Sunday at Avon Oaks Ballroom, 1401 N. State St., Girard. The evening Ballroom Dance Lessons are sponsored by Chris Drum. The evening will start with a 5 p.m. Tango Basics; a 5:30 p.m. Intermediate Tango Lesson; and general dancing from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Guest DJ Chris Drum will play a mix of Ballroom, rhythm, Latin, swing and club dance music.
Open to the public. Cost is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers and $3 for students (high school / college).
